LANifesto #6 - Donations neededJust a quick public service announcement, but if you can spare a few bucks, please click the paypal link to the right and donate to The Party. Now that LANifesto's treasury is back at 0, the new management is going to have to front not only the $75 LAN fee, but also the $60 refundable security deposit. That's $135 they need to scrounge up in only 24 days. I know right now isn't the easiest of times, but any bit of help is greatly appreciated since it'd help these guys out tremendously and they do it all for you.
Okay, now I'm really signing off ^_^ LANifesto #6 - Time MachineWe know it's been long in the works but we had a LOT of games to go through to decide what was worthy of being played at LANifesto #6.
So come join us and relive the memories of PC gaming's finest moments. Saturday, June 19th from noon till midnight
LANifesto #5-2 - Good times!Well LANifesto #5 is over. Actually, it was over a good two weeks ago, and I've been too busy to make any wrap-up posts let alone update the gallery. (I'm leaving for Ohio, in case ye didn't know...) GoldenEye: Source was a blast, and congratulations to Piemur for winning the G110 keyboard in a Last Man Standing competition, even if he did win it by hiding in a corner the whole game. XD No seriously though, ye deserve it. You've been at every LANifesto held so far and even some of the mini-LANs (check the forums!) that we've held, so its great that we were able to give back to you after all you've given to the commnunity just by being there. Jailbreak Source was unfortunately a flop... though we were able to make the best of it, the game simply didn't feel as arcade-ish as the Unreal 2004 Jailbreak we've come to know and love. At the same time, everyone had a blast with MechWarrior - Living Legends, and I can easily forsee this being a future staple of LANifesto. Tons of mechs, planes, tanks, and tiny little men who simply don't know when to die - all of which can be solved by a nice flame thrower. Mad props go to C4_Murder for helping us figure out just how to play this game. As for TF2 Prophunt, once again Valve fucked up by releasing an update the weekend of the LAN, breaking compatibility with the mod. It didn't help that their offline LAN servers were also a bit flakey, but at least we were able to work around those. Special thanks once again go to our long-time sponsor, Computer Power User magazine. I hope all of you remembered to take part of that year-long free subscription, because the more I read the reviews they have in there the more I wonder why I never subscribed earlier. These guys really know how to cater to our interests and have done a great job assisting the LAN scene at every turn. ^_^ Also, big props to PaulWuzHere for not only bringing additional bodies to the slaughterhouse, but also for taking all of the fine pics in this edition of the LANifesto gallery. CHECK IT OUT! Signing off, |
