I was wondering about doing bench runs for a bit during the LANs?

Or maybe even suicide OC runs, I can make a chiller or direct die phase cooler for this, but people would have to be willing to release me from liability or burnt up hardware AND be willing to pull their system apart to insulate xD

Unless we just ran a chiller at barely below ambient. That can be done with like a 1kw load too lol.

I thought of the phase mostly because I am going to build another cooler and if I do a chiller or a direct die, its going to be an external one mounted on wood with wheels etc, perfect for benching.

Insulating can be a huge pain but I am sure with practice and someone willing to take the risk we could get some awesome stuff going. Of course I wouldn't even think about doing anything that I didn't already test out on my own hardware.

Chiller though can be done with no insulation at all, just a block.

I trust you, just when I came over and you told me all the windows were open because you were leaking propane and the correct fuel air mixture is explosive.

Actually, I have a p4 system you can test until it's dead if you want it.

Sure that would be fun, just depends on if/when I get this new chiller done.

I remember back in the day people hitting 4-5Ghz on a p4, but that was crazy liquid nitrogen and such.

haha the last OC/Benchmark competition ended with me winning with my computer dieing as they announce the winner lol. That was in the Good Athlon 2800+ Geforce FX 5800 Ultra days lol

I am going to attempt a small bench comp at this upcoming LAN, and will probably use superPI and some rendition of 3dmark or something or another.

Will have a prize...maybe. Likely no extreme cooling this time around though.
