Greetings and welcome to LANifesto, comrade! Alabama's been sorely lacking in the LAN party scene lately, so we figured it'd only be proper to organize a good ol' fashioned LAN party to pick up the slack and then some. So tell us, how does a recurring 16-man LAN party sound to you? And let us add that unlike console gatherings or LAN cafes purporting to be real LANs, we have standards to uphold! Quality. Community. The ability to kick ass for 12 hours straight. In essence, we at LANifesto adhere to a LAN party manifesto if you will ^_^

So what say you? Are you hardcore enough to throw down at a real man's LAN? Can your vocal cords dish out every last cheer and jeer your sick mind can come up with? Will your kidneys be healthy enough to consume massive amounts of caffeine and pizza?

If you still think you're ready, then come join us for our innaugural LAN party on Saturday, September 12th at the Clanton Recreation Center - roughly 40 minutes travel from Birmingham or Montgomery off I-65. We'll be gaming from noon till whenever the party naturally dies, perhaps around 2 AM or so. Create an account in our forums then click the REGISTER NOW link at the right to reserve your seat in the BYOC! (You will be bringing your own computer, won't you, comrade?)

Our first LAN will include a healthy mix of Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2, perhaps with a hint of Unreal Tournament 2004.  Make sure your Steam client is in offline mode before coming, as there will not be internet available at the LAN.

Though attendance is free, the venue itself does cost us real money, plus we have to pay back our initial investments in power distribution equipment so a $10 donation is recommended per gamer. Unfortunately the city of Clanton does not allow us to take donations on-site, so if you're feeling generous, please click the PayPal button on the right to help our cause. Every single donation and expense is tracked, so you can rest easy and have full confidence that you're doing your part to support the community.  Be sure to check out our Rules and FAQ sections as well.

... oh yes, one last thing I should mention.  We're fortunate enough to have sponsors for our first LAN!

Every gamer that attends LANifesto will be able to grab a free copy of Computer Power User (CPU) Magazine, one of the best publications to still grace our eyeballs with their attention to the LAN Party scene and splendid hardware reviews. Each magazine features a coupon for six free issues, so be sure to check them out! CPU was an invaluable resource when one of our own was first introduced to the LAN party scene in Southern California, so there's little doubt in our minds that you'll probably enjoy the magazine too.

Logitech is also among our sponsors, ever so kind enough to have donated one of their premium G19 Gaming Keyboards to our cause. (Read Androk's review here.) This drool-worthy keyboard dominates the scene with powerful macro scripting, personalized backlighting, a powered USB 2.0 hub, and even a 320x240 color display that's perfect for watching YouTube and VLC videos or displaying vital statistics while in game! And to think that you could easily win this $200 keyboard simply by attending our little party that we like to call LANifesto.

Just what do you think you're doing, still reading this?! Sign up NOW, comrade! The Party looks forward to your arrival with great anticipation!
