The first LANifesto is nearly upon us, comrade! Are you prepared?  A full list of what to bring is available here, but to highlight a few key points, you must bring your own network cable and have a legitimate copy of Team Fortress 2.  Feel free to also contribute to the community chests with a 12 pack of soda or bottled water while you're at it; we'll provide the coolers and ice.

Also, let this be a friendly reminder for everyone to ensure Team Fortress 2 is installed and fully up to date.  Then, place Steam in Offline Mode on Friday night at 8:00 PM CST.  This is when we will be taking the server offline in preparation for the LAN, so whatever version of TF2 is available on Steam at that time is what we will be playing.  Once Steam's in offline mode, TEST IT! Make sure you can actually launch the game!  We're trying to avoid the failures that plagued Steam users at Quakecon, mmmkay?

Last but not least, I'd like to give a warm and hearty thanks to Bawls for sponsoring our LAN with a 12 pack to keep you guys caffeinated!

What's that?  You've never heard of Bawls before?!  Don't let the name scare you; Bawls is one of the few energy drinks that actually tastes GOOD as in something you'd want to drink everyday like Mountain Dew.  Remember Berryclear Sprite Remix?  Yea, it tastes kinda like that.  Plus, for the longest time Bawls has been an strong supporter of the LAN party scene, supporting the big events like Quakecon all the way down to smaller 16-man LANs like our own.  Hell, Androktasie had his first bottle of Bawls at his very first LAN party back when CompUSA was still around and has been hooked as a regular customer ever since.  Red Bull and its bitter-tasing clones can all suck it.

Unfortunately there's no distributor of Bawls in Alabama, but that doesn't mean you have to go dry in-between LANs!  The Target in Montgomery sells 4-packs of the original flavor in 16oz cans, while you can special order larger 24-packs from Publix or just buy them off the internet at Amazon.com and ThinkGeek.  If ever you find yourself at a Fry's or Micro Center during your next trip to Atlanta, they're sold there as well.  Be sure to try the Cherry and G33K B33R (think IBC root beer) flavors too!
