Wow... the demand for this weekend's LAN party has far outstripped our expectations.  Who knew Alabama's LAN Party scene could be so strong?

We'll be opening up an additional 5 seats by stealing power from the circuit used for the vending machines, and Black Magix is telling me that the servers should be able to scale to meet the new player limits.  We had three people sign up on the waiting list in the forums, but I'm going to go ahead and fill in the other two seats with Fusion and Piemur's friends since they both emailed me courteously about their respective intents and issues with registration.  So if you're on the main signup list or the one below, you're all set to go!

1) Vilestretch
2) Fusion
3) MGHanrahan
4) Piemur's friend
5) Fusion's friend

Other tidbits:

  • We need someone to bring two additional power strips for the new extension cables, one of which is rated for at least 12.5A.
  • We also ask that you bring as long CAT5 / CAT6 cables as you can for yourself, and if you have extra, bring those too because I have a feeling that someone will forget theirs or only have a wimpy 6 footer that won't reach the switch from where they're sitting. Seriously, the longer the better. 20-25' should do just nicely.
  • If this is your first time to LANifesto, please read our rules and checklist for what to bring.  Remember, no UPSes or alcohol will be allowed.
  • Make sure your legitimate copy of Team Fortress 2 is installed, fully patched, and in Offline Mode at 9:00 tonight.  Double-check that you can actually run the game while in Offline Mode.

If we get enough proceeds from this LAN to cover the venue fee and have some extra left over, we'll be able to buy a spool of cable and some RJ45 connectors for future lans.

21-man LAN go!
